This is a stunning plant and a real bee magnet with large, coarse dark green/purple leaves and beautiful pink edible flowers from summer until the first frosts.
As with all Basils, this is a thirsty plant that likes to be dry overnight when the temperatures drop.
Plant in full sun, either in pots where it looks wonderful, or amongst other sun loving flowers in the border.
The leaves have a great flavour and can be used in salads, with tomatoes and in Mediterranean and Italian dishes and  the flowers as a garnish or in salads and drinks.
